Dukhtaran-e-Millat of Friday lambasted the puppet government for slapping a fresh Public Safety Act against party chairperson, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrani and her personal secretary, Sofi Fehmeeda.

A fresh PSA was slapped against Andrabi Sahiba and Sofi Fehmeeda on Thursday after the previous one expired on August 15.

“The government of India and the puppet government here led by Mehbooba shamelessly slap PSA after PSA against these two women leaders. They were booked under PSA and lodged in Ambphalla jail on May 15 and after three months on August 15, a fresh PSA was slapped against them and their illegal lodgment was further extended,” party general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, said in a statement.

She said that the fresh PSA was slapped at a time when the party chairperson’s health condition is extremely critical. “The puppet government is resorting to extremely oppressive measures against the ailing woman leader. Isn’t this a clear proof that the puppet government is hell-bent to make this family suffer only because they are resisting against the illegal Indian occupation. There cannot be a worst example of political vengeance than this one,” she added.

Nasreen said that the courts in JK also function as per the orders of GoI and the puppet authorities here. “ For the past three month, the courts were not able to shift Andrabi Sahiba and Sofi Fehmeeda to Srinagar jail despite clear instructions by the Indian supreme court that detainees should be lodged in jails nearer to their homes,” she added.

She said that besides Andrabi, her husband, Dr Qasim Faktoo, also has been made to suffer because of his stand. “His health condition is also deteriorating as he is having serious back ailments. His eyesight is also diminishing with every passing day as he suffer from Leukomia,” she added.

“While as per Indian law, life sentence means detention for a fixed period of time but in Dr Qasim’s case, it was said that a life sentence means that he should die inside the jail. Such a judgement clearly signifies it is nothing but political vengeance because of which this family has been targeted and is made to suffer,” she added.

She said that this was a sinister plot against this family and the resistance movement of Kashmir. “ This has been a common feature of India that those who do not budge before them they either hang them or invoke illegal laws like PSA and other draconian laws to keep such people behind the bars,” she added.

She said that these acts of Government of India and the puppet state government were highly condemnable.

Meanwhile, Nasreen further said that the “gunfight” in Gurez seems to be a fake encounter.” Blood thirsty Indian forces leave no chance to kill the people of Kashmir and as it seems, yesterday’s encounter was also fake. Indian forces pick up people from homes and from roads and then kill them in fake encounters after labelling these innocent people as Mujahideen,” she said.

She paid glowing tributes to the people who were martyred in Gurez. “ No matter if they were civilians or Mujahideen, Allah SWT will never let their sacrifice go waste and time will come when such sacrifices will lead to the freedom from the illegal Indian occupation,” she added.
